Renaissance Festival Hits Miami (JIPSY PHOTOS)

LOOK: Miami Does The Renaissance Festival

Perfectly set in Cauley Square Historic Village, the 25th Annual Renaissance Festival is in Miami for the next two weekends (through 14) so pull out your capes, brush off your ole English lingo and head to out for a day of fun with tomato throwing, fencing, drinking and trade of goods -- a.k.a. shopping.

Transformed to The Village Of Port Isabella, you will find plenty of entertainment in the shady park. In between the scheduled shows, there are various entertainers including my favorite Bret Blackshear as the character of Gi Shiata, a creepy looking masked character who will amaze you without speaking one word. Trust me, he’s pretty awesome.

Also look out for the bird couple who shares their love and knowledge of Falconry with Raptors Of The Round Table, an educational experience on the 4,000-year-old history of the sport. They volunteer their time and presentation with the help of their beautiful feathery friends.

Start early when the gates open at 10 a.m. and stay all day until the sun sets. Plenty to do, drink and eat. For more information, visit www.ren-fest.com/miami. -- Jipsy
