'Doctor Who': Christopher Eccleston Not In 50th Anniversary Special

This 'Doctor' Is Out

The "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special won't include Christoper Eccleston, the Ninth Doctor, but it's not because he wasn't asked to participate.

According to Digital Spy, Eccleston met with Steven Moffat to discuss the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary plans, but ultimately declined to be a part of the special. "After careful thought, Chris decided not to be in the episode," Digital Spy quotes a source as saying. "He wishes the team all the best."

While the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special won't feature Eccleston, it will feature former stars Billie Piper and David Tennant along with Jemma Redgrave, John Hurt and Joanna Page.
