Robert Rasset Jailed After Toddler Allegedly Found Wandering With Mike's Hard Lemonade

Toddler Wanders The Streets, Double-Fisting Mike's Hard Lemonade

Police in Hastings, Minn. say they a 2-year-old boy was found wandering around alone Sunday, clutching two bottles of Mike's Hard Lemonade.

They got a call about the barefoot boy at around 3 p.m., according to KMSP. The man who contacted law enforcement said he found the toddler standing in the middle of a road near an intersection.

One bottle of Mike's Hard was open, and one was closed. Mike's Hard Lemonade has 8-percent alcohol by volume, though there was no indication the child had actually consumed any.

Police received a call two-and-a-half hours later from Robert Rasset, the child's father, who was reporting his son missing.

When police told them the state in which they had found the boy, they say Rasset told them "Well, it happens."

Police say Rasset was drunk when they found him at home, according to WCCO. He was taken into police custody and is expected to be charged with child endangerment.

The toddler is now in the care of his mother, who does not live with Rasset.
