Eva Longoria's Reality Dating Series ‘Ready for Love' Is On

Eva Longoria Is Ready For Love

Think all the best guys are either gay or taken?

This is the question asked by the teaser for NBC’s new reality dating series produced by none other than not-so-desperate housewife Eva Longoria. The series “Ready for Love,” hosted by husband and wife team Giuliana and Bill Rancic (“The Apprentice” and “E News”), which was originally slotted for Sunday nights, was rescheduled by NBC and will now occupy the Tuesday night 9-11 time slot following “The Voice”.

Coined a “dating game changer” by NBC, “Ready for Love” sets out to find romantic partners for three eligible bachelors. Hand selected by Eva Longoria who is the show’s executive producer, Dallas financier Ben Patton, Santa Barbara musician Tim Lopez and Miami entrepreneur Ernesto Arguello will each have a field of 12 bachelorettes from across the nation who were selected through a new Facebook app, from which to connect and eventually choose.

Three matchmakers have been enlisted to help with the process. Relationship author Tracy McMillan, internationally renowned relationship expert and matchmaker Amber Kelleher-Andrews and professional dating coach Matt Hussey will serve as expert coaches throughout the process as the 36 women who range in age from 24 to 34 compete for the object of their affections. The women will live in three separate houses, each house assigned to one of the matchmakers.

“Ready for Love” is a combination of in-studio competition and reality elements that challenge the women each week to make a connection with the bachelors. At the end of each week the participants will gather on stage to watch their dates and get feedback from the matchmakers. The final episode scheduled to air on May 28, will reveal the final choice by each bachelor and conclude with each couple’s decision to get married, continue dating or break up.

The show’s innovative use of Facebook is expected to bring a new angle to the dating reality show concept. “This show is about making real connections and the ongoing search for love, something that both men and women can relate to,” said Longoria. “I am excited to be a part of such an innovative and promising format that will help these great guys find true love.” NBC executive Paul Telegdy said “The show’s innovative format that uses online profiles and proven matchmakers will provide a better chance for our suitors to realize connections that will last long beyond the season finale.”

The “Ready for Love” two-hour debut on April 9 took audiences on the original nationwide search for potential partners for the three men. The show is being produced by Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment production company along with Renegade 83 and Universal Television. Former producer of “The Bachelor” Jason Ehrlich as well as Greg Goldman, David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe are also executive producers on the show.
