When we talk about fashion in the White House, nine times out of 10 we're referring to our chic first lady Michelle Obama. Of course, there are exceptions -- like when major style figures themselves inundate 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Rachel Roy, Mary Alice Stephenson, Prabal Gurung, J. Crew's Jenna Lyons and more hit up the presidential residence for the tenth in the "In Performance at the White House" series, this one themed Memphis Soul. The concert, which took place in the East Room, featured a pretty amazing lineup, including Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Charlie Musselwhite, Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples and Justin Timberlake with Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader.
Fortunately, fashion people are pretty used to parties and glitzy performances, so the designers and stylists in attendance knew how to have a good time while chronicling their adventures at the White House on Instagram. "Ok, my host told me I am having too much fun in the W H - but hey he's the ppl prez, RIGHT," Rachel captioned one photo. Mary Alice and Prabal also had a little fun, looking dapper while posing in the Blue Room. Think they talked shop with FLOTUS while they were there?
Check out some of the fashionable Instagrams from last night below. Oh, and you can catch the performance on PBS stations on April 16 if you weren't one of the lucky invitees rubbing shoulders with President Obama, Michelle, Sasha and Malia at the concert.
