Highest-Grossing Baseball Movies Of All-Time, From 'Summer Catch' To 'Moneyball'

The Biggest Baseball Movies Ever

Buy some peanuts and Cracker Jack: Baseball season is off and running, and with it comes a major new baseball movie. "42," out Friday, focuses on the early life of Brooklyn Dodgers infielder Jackie Robinson, the first African-American player to break the sport's color barrier.

Starring Harrison Ford as Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey and relative newcomer Chadwick Boseman as Robinson, "42" has received mixed reviews thus far, with critics knocking the paint-by-numbers approach to the iconic player's life story.

"Writer-director Brian Helgeland's Robinson biopic '42' is a class act itself, though not always an engaging act," David Germain wrote in his review of the film for The AP. "It's such a familiar story that any faithful film biography almost inevitably will turn out predictable, even a bit routine."

Despite the reviews, "42" is poised to earn big money at the box office (thanks, in part, to the film's incredible, Jay-Z-fueled trailer). Where will it wind up on the list of highest-grossing baseball movies of all-time? Check out the top-20 below and speculate in the comments section.
