Never say never…unless you’re Julio Iglesias. Apparently the legendary Spanish crooner is staying far away from his son Enrique’s recording sessions. As he told El Universal, there is zero chance for a musical collaboration between the two.

Singing with my son is something that would come off as very commercial,” Julio said. I think that he and I will never sing together. If we sing, it will be at a dinner, when he has kids and wants his kids to sing, just like my little ones do. I don’t believe in a public commercial duet between my kids and me.”

Iglesias fans were definitely saddened by the news, but not entirely shocked. In recent months, it seems like a rift has been growing between papa and hijo.

Enrique purposely no-showed at his brother Julio Jr’s wedding. And many tabloids suspected it was because he knew his famous father was going to be there. Perhaps the two are just better off leaving the duets to Tony Bennett.
