LL Cool J Clarifies His Intentions With His Song With Brad Paisley, 'Accidental Racist' (VIDEO)

LL Cool J addressed the controversy that erupted over his new song with Brad Paisley, "Accidental Racist." The rapper and "NCIS: Los Angeles" star dropped by "The Tonight Show" and admitted that while he can't defend the song, he can at least try to clarify his intentions.

"The song isn’t perfect," he admitted. "You can’t defend a song, because art is subjective. And people choose to see and hear what they want to see based on what they’re looking at, and I’ll never be able to change that. But as long as people are having a conversation, then the art has done it’s job."

Paisley shared a similar sentiment on Twitter, saying he wouldn't change a thing about the song. And in fact, the pair teamed up again for another song, "Live For You," which will appear on LL Cool J's forthcoming album. E! Online called this new track "upbeat and non-divisive," a welcome change from "Accidental Racist."

Watch LL Cool J catching bad guys every week on "NCIS: Los Angeles," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
