'Project Runway': One Design Leads To A Judges' Debate About Fashion And Art (VIDEO)

'Project Runway' Debate: Can Fashion Be Art?

Patricia's design created a hot debate between judges Heidi Klum and Nina Garcia on "Project Runway." Heidi liked what Patricia created and saw it as art. Nina disagreed with her on every aspect of that.

"Fashion is not art," she said.

"It kind of is," Heidi countered. "Some of it is. If it’s not basic it is."

But Nina reiterated her point. "Fashion is not art. Stores are not museums. You go to stores to buy clothes. You do not go to stores to look at clothes."

It's a debate that could probably rage for years in the fashion industry. Gossip and Gab certainly didn't get Patricia's "art." They said, "I don’t know what the hell she just sent down the runway, but that shirt is hideous and I don’t get it."

It didn't matter, though, as Patricia survived the week. Michelle, who was left hanging at the end of the show last week, survived both eliminations. So four designers are headed to Fashion Week. It was Layana who came up just short this time.

The competition continues on "Project Runway," Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
