After spending 12 long years in a cage, a dog named Lizzy walked on grass for the first time last month.
National Mill Dog Rescue workers found Lizzy in a puppy mill in March. According to msnNOW, female mill dogs like Lizzy are made to endlessly breed litters of puppies with little care for the mother's health.

In her 12 years at the mill, Lizzy's paws never touched the ground, but last week her rescuers shared this video of her walking on grass for the first time in her life.
After being rescued, Lizzy was immediately adopted into a loving home.
