Amanda Seyfried On Posing Nude For Allure: 'I Would Have, But My Publicist Wouldn't Let Me'

Amanda Seyfried isn't one to shy away from risque roles. The doe-eyed actress played a young prostitute in 2010's "Chloe," and takes on the role of the titular 1970s porn star in “Lovelace.”

But those hoping to see Seyfried, 27, disrobe for Allure's May “Look Better Naked” issue are out of luck.

The New York Post's Page Six reports that at a recent dinner to celebrate the upcoming issue, Allure's editor-in-chief, Linda Wells, pointed out that Seyfried was the only featured actress, among Naya Rivera, Jennifer Morrison and others, to appear clothed in the issue.

Seyfried defended herself, according to Page Six, responding, “I would have, but my publicist wouldn’t let me!”

However, according to the Post, her publicist Evelyn Karamanos didn't stop her from giving Allure some raunchy quotes during the interview. For example, she reportedly relayed some unusual advice her vocal coach gave her while filming “Les Misérables”: “Imagine [performing a sex act], get that feeling in the back of your throat, and then sing.”

Seyfried previously opened up to InStyle about her thoughts on going nude for film roles.

“It’s not about my body. It’s not about me," she said in InStyle's January 2013 issue. "You’re playing somebody else. You’re not going to believe a love scene if the people are dressed. You’re not going to believe a stripper who has on a bra and underwear the whole time. At the same time, it has to do with how comfortable you are with letting people see your skin. For me, I’m ok with it.”
