Naming a band is a tricky thing and between the California sun and the laid-back vibe at the festival, Coachella is a great time for quirky bands to make a splash.

Given that legendary rockers like Dave Grohl have admitted their band names are pretty much bullocks ("Finding a good band name is still the hardest f--king part; Foo Fighters is the stupidest f--king name"), it's safe to say some of the following acts were grasping for straws when it came to picking their names. (Donald Glover has openly admitted he chose his rap name, Childish Gambino, because it came out of a Wu-Tang name generator.)

Noisey ranked every act on the line-up from best to worst name, with fantastic indie-rockers Stars earning the dubious honor. The Red Hot Chili Peppers came in second, with Pretty Lights closing out the Top 3. Australian house DJ and producer Tommy Trash was awarded the title of the best name.

Ahead, the 7 most peculiar band names who performed this past weekend, and will do the same this following weekend at the Coachella Valley Arts & Music Festival in Indio, California. Enjoy!
