Opponent Trashes Bachmann: She 'Epitomizes So Much Of What's Wrong With This Country'

Democrat Jim Graves, who narrowly lost to Rep. Michele Bachmann in the 2012 election, recently announced plans to challenge the controversial Republican again in Minnesota's sixth district. Graves joined HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill Monday for his first national on-camera interview and explained why he believes he will steal Bachmann's seat in 2014.

"The people are ready for a change," Graves said. "Michele Bachmann epitomizes so much of what's wrong with this country."

Graves described Bachmann as a "show horse" and said that as he travels around the district, constituents tell him they are "kind of embarrassed by Michele Bachmann and her antics."

"It seems like she goes to Washington to create headlines," Graves said of Bachmann. "And what we need people in Washington doing is creating solutions and getting things done. I think when you look at people approaching politics like a bloodsport, I think that's kind of what Michele Bachmann does. When you ridicule and you criticize and you make personal attacks on people, it's hurtful. You don't get things done."
