Grandpa's iPad Is No Match For His Magnifying Glass (PHOTO)

Zoom function or no zoom function, we still think this grandpa is a genius.

Earlier today Reddit user Eric2929 posted the above photo with the caption: "My grandfather using his iPad." As Eric2929 explained in the comments section, his grandmother had emailed the photo to him with the subject line, "Your terribly modern Grandpa." While Eric2929 explained to his grandma that the iPad had an easy-to-use zoom function, he and other Reddit users thought his grandpa's use of a magnifying glass was quite resourceful.

“I totally get what he is doing. For anyone with poor eyesight it is all fine and well to increase the font size but that doesn't increase the screen real estate,” said sirwhisky.

While this grandpa doesn’t appear to be an iPad pro yet, his use of the technology still shows that post 50s aren’t necessarily as technophobic as some would believe. As of 2012, 53 percent of American adults ages 65 and older used the Internet or email and one in three seniors used a social networking site, according to a Pew Research Center report.
