CNN Boston Arrest Debacle: Network Source Says 'We Really F****d Up' (VIDEO)

CNN Source Laments Network's Reporting Disaster

CNN had a tough day on Wednesday. A network source told Business Insider about CNN's disastrous reporting debacle on Wednesday.

CNN's John King announced on air that "an arrest" had been made in the Boston bombings case. As multiple outlets reported the same news shortly thereafter, NBC News' Pete Williams maintained that sources were telling him that no arrest had been made. About an hour later, King appeared on air to backtrack his comments, saying that his sources were now telling him that no arrest had been made.

"As I think everyone knows, we really f—ed up. No way around it," a source told Business Insider.

A CNN spokesperson told The Huffington Post's Michael Calderone that the network had "three credible sources on both local and federal levels." The spokesperson added, "Based on this information we reported our findings. As soon as our sources came to us with new information we adjusted our reporting."
