Dealing With Loss: Daughter Wears Wedding Rings To Commemorate Parents (PHOTO)

LOOK: Daughter Pays Heartwarming Tribute To Her Parents

Dealing with the loss of loved ones is never easy, but one young woman found a way to keep her parents close to her heart.

Lauren Lage-McAdams, a college student from New York, shared a photo on Reddit Monday of the sweet way she commemorates her parents, who both died within the last eight months. She wears both of their wedding rings on a necklace -- notice how her mom's ring fits perfectly inside her dad's. Check out the photo below:

Lage-McAdams told HuffPost Weddings that her parents had both been married once before when they met while working at a post office. They were married for 12 years before her father -- whom she is not biologically related to, but considers her true dad -- passed away in September 2012. At the time, her mom had been battling cancer for six months; Lage-McAdams said she didn't think her dad's body could handle watching her mom suffer anymore, and her mom in turn couldn't live without him (she died in February). Lage-McAdams described them as "absolute soulmates," and said they "adored each other."

"I know true love and a great relationship is possible, because I saw it exemplified in my parents," she said. "Wearing my parents' wedding rings is a way for me to be reminded of their presence in a beautiful way, because their existence in my life was a beautiful thing."
