If you're like us, you love tacos. Soft tortillas filled with juicy pork, crunchy tortillas stuffed with spicy shredded beef, fusion tacos with Asian flair -- we're open-minded. If you are too, you'll be interested to know that Thrillist is gathering some of the New York City taco scene's best and brightest at a good old-fashioned Cinco de Mayo blowout.
On May 5, 10 vendors will serve up tacos, traditional and otherwise, at Luncha Libre: The Thrillist Taco Knockout. Those offerings include taco pizza from Williamsburg's Best Pizza; brunch-inspired "gringo" tacos with duck hash, pickled radish and jalapeno mayo from JoeDoe; and deep-fried, hot dog-stuffed tortillas topped with crushed Fritos, corn and chorizo from LES spot Los Perros Locos.
There'll also be a design-your-own hot sauce station, a DIY Michelada bar, free beer, giveaways, souvenirs and live music. General admission for $45 gets you five tacos and the $75 V.I.P. tickets gets you 10 tacos plus a margarita station and other perks.
