'Awkward': Sadie Shows Her Vulnerable Side In A Heartfelt Phone Call To Matty (VIDEO)

Sadie's tough exterior may have been in full force during her questioning by the police over the death of Ricky Schwartz, but it started cracking nonetheless on the latest episode of "Awkward." Sadie opened up to Matty in a phone call about the dark place she finds herself.

"No one wants to be around me," she said. "At school, everyone hates me, and at home, no one cares if I’m alive or dead. I may as well be Ricky. I’m scared."

But when she found out Matty was with Tamara and Jenna, among others, she put back on her tough shell and quickly ended the call. Could this be the start of a more substantial friendship between the two -- or perhaps even more? Things aren't exactly sailing smoothly between Jenna and Matty, even though they did mend the whole pregnancy scare bumb in their road this week.

Hollywood Life was impressed with Sadie's "real-ness" in that moment. "I wholeheartedly welcome these moments, especially if they lead to more scenes between Sadie and Matty," they wrote. "Their conversation may have happened over the phone, but ... it’s like they might as well have been sitting directly on my heart."
