Detroit Bus Crash Injures DDOT Driver, 9 Passengers Near Joy Rd. And Evergreen

10 Injured In Bus Crash

An accident involving a DDOT bus in Detroit near Joy and Evergreen at about 9 a.m. Wednesday morning has left 10 people injured, WXYZ-TV reports. The driver and nine passengers were hurt, but none were seriously injured, according to police.

Update: 2:33 p.m. -- The accident happened as a result of the bus striking a Ford Taurus that had ignored a stop sign, according to WDIV-TV.

The impact turned the car around and knocked the Detroit Department of Transportation bus up onto a lawn, where it swiped a tree and took considerable damage to its front section, the Detroit News reports. In addition to the bus driver and several passengers, the driver of the Taurus was also taken to the hospital as a result of the crash, according to the newspaper.
