Local Rapper Shot To Death

A 22-year-old rapper from San Francisco was shot and killed Tuesday night in downtown Oakland.

Keith Head, who went by the stage name K.O. Da Bandit, died after gunfire broke out near the intersection of 13th Street and Broadway.

After the shooting, which occurred just after 10:30 p.m., authorities evacuated the 12th Street BART station and combed the area for evidence. Police are releasing no further information on the incident.

Head's death marks the 30th homicide in Oakland this year and the third this week. Earlier Tuesday, a 21-year-old woman was shot and killed during an attempted robbery near Foothill Boulevard and 24th Avenue, and on Monday, a 23-year-old man was found shot to death on 90th Avenue.

Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest in Head's case. Anyone with information should call investigators at (510) 238-3821.
