Dollar menus are no longer just for fast food chains.
Last week, Google released a new micro-donation Android app called One Today that allows users to give $1 to nonprofits of their choice. One Today displays a new nonprofit every day -- along with information on how that dollar will be spent.
Over time, the app tailors its offerings to fit a user's preferences. Donors can also share their charitable giving on social media and encourage friends to participate.
The app is currently available only in the US on a trial basis and only for registered members of Google for Nonprofits, one of Google.org's social impact initiatives.
The small donation amount notwithstanding, the idea behind the app is to increase exposure to different nonprofits while spurring popular involvement in a user-friendly manner.
