Gretchen Rossi, Slade Smiley Get Engaged After She Proposes (VIDEO)

Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are engaged!

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" stars are officially set to be married after Rossi proposed to Smiley atop the AT&T building in Los Angeles on April 14.

“I don’t do anything by the book” Rossi told Life & Style about her engagement. The 34-year-old surprised her beau with a black-gold and black-diamond band. “It was a really emotional moment!" she said.

Five days later, Rossi got her own engagement ring when she and her fiance headed to Newport Jewelers in Newport Beach, Calif. There, Smiley gave her a huge 4-carat yellow-diamond sparkler designed by Danny Arik.

"We congratulate Gretchen and Slade on their engagement and are excited to see it play out on the show," a Bravo spokesperson told Us Weekly.

The proposal was filmed and will appear on an upcoming episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," which is currently in its seventh season.

Their four-year relationship has played out on the Bravo series, with Rossi struggling to fully commit to Smiley because of his prior financial problems. But now, with the 44-year-old working as a radio host, the blonde reality starlet is ready to settle down and start a family.

"We’re working really hard right now to have a baby. He actually has a vasectomy so he has to get a reversal and we have to kind of figure that all out," Rossi revealed to OK! Magazine before the engagement. "The scoop is we are taking the steps to try to have a baby. If that is the path we are taking there should be some sort of commitment and I don’t know when that is going to happen and who is going to ask who."
