'Haunted Collector' Travels To Joplin, Missouri To Help Family Impacted By 2011 Tornado (VIDEO)

'Haunted Collector' Heads To Tornado-Damaged Joplin, MO

The trail took the team from "Haunted Collector" to Joplin, Missouri this week. The city was devastated by a tornado in May 2011, nearly two years ago now, and still there are many areas of the city in need of relief. For John Zaffis and his team, though, their focus was on resident Bob Wilson.

The family had been experiencing paranormal activity, including shaking furniture and visible spirit figures. The team used their EVP recorder to ask a possible spirit if it had been affected by the tornado. They could hear the word "yes" in response.

Bob was overwhelmed by the evidence. He said that he'd been out helping people in the tornado. The emotions were still very raw for Bob as he told John how he had stayed beside one injured man until the man passed away.

"I stayed with him until I saw the light and the light leave his eyes," he said. "I just wanted to help him”

“You did," John told him.

More than 150 people died as a result of the tornado and the path of destruction through the town is still visible in many areas. While many improvements have been made through volunteer efforts, there is still a lot that needs to be done to help bring the city back.

See where the team travels next on "Haunted Collector," Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
