Thomas Gold knows his way around a remix, having reworked original productions from Lady Gaga, Adele, Miike Snow and many others to the great enjoyment of partygoers all around the world. His newest edit, debuting exclusively on HuffPost Entertainment and available for free download, might just be his best yet.
A bold re-imagining of OneRepublic's "Feel Again," this remix does what the best dance edits do: provide space for a building beat that works with -- not against -- the original vocals and wrapping everything up in a euphoric drop that actually sounds like happiness.
"It's been a great pleasure to get my remix hands on this track," Gold told HuffPost. "I really like what OneRepublic are doing and I immediately loved the track when I heard it first. It's one of those songs you can instantly sing along to and the vocal has this little 'something.' I instantly came up with a couple of ideas for my remix and it was pure pleasure to get it done! It has been and still is one the highlights in all my DJ sets."
OneRepublic, like Coldplay, is reaping the benefits of electronic dance music's explosion in the United States, as producers continue to search for anthemic and instantly recognizable vocals to work around. The band, which catapulted to popularity on the strength of the Timbaland-produced "Apologize," continues to enjoy pop success. "Feel Again" is off of this year's "Album," the band's third studio record.
