'Chicago Fire' Renewed By NBC: Series Picked Up For Season 2

NBC Renews 'Chicago Fire'

NBC has renewed "Chicago Fire" for a second season, the network announced Friday.

The Dick Wolf-produced procedural has been one the Peacock network's few successful new shows of the 2013 TV season, so "Chicago Fire's" renewal comes as no surprise. In its debut season, the series has been averaging around 6 million viewers per episode. Season 2 will be 22 episodes and NBC has already commissioned a spinoff that would focus on the Chicago police department.

Yuriy Sardarov, who plays Otis on "Chicago Fire," which also stars Taylor Kinney and Jesse Spencer, tweeted a photo of the cast on set, celebrating the renewal:
