'Hart Of Dixie' Renewed By The CW

The CW Renews 'Hart Of Dixie'

The CW has renewed "Hart Of Dixie" for a third season, the network announced Friday.

The sophomore series stars "OC" alum Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart, a young doctor who moves to a small practice in Bluebell, Alabama after her dreams of being a heart surgeon fall apart.

"Hart Of Dixie" ratings have averaged around 1.5 million viewers per episode and a 0.6 in the 18-49 demographic. The numbers aren't great, but the show does well in online viewing.

The CW also announced the network has renewed "Beauty And The Beast" and ordered a full season of "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff "The Originals." The network had already renewed "Arrow," "Supernatural," and "The Vampire Diaries." The fates of "The Carrie Diaries" and "Nikita" are still up in the air.

"Hart Of Dixie" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
