Space Camp Shirts Criticized For Telling Boys To 'Achieve' And Girls To 'Dream'

Is This Shirt Sexist?

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center's education wing, Space Camp, has come under fire recently for a selection of youth t-shirts that some have called sexist. The t-shirt for boys invites them to "achieve," while the girls' version tells them to "dream." Does this reinforce a stereotype of female inferiority when it comes to science and technology? Space Camp social media and advertising manager Charity Stewart joined HuffPost Live Wednesday to respond to the criticism. Stewart told HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps that the camp's merchandizing and marketing team was just trying to design a shirt that "stylistically" appealed to girls.
