Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Builds 'Real Housewives' 'Dream Team'

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is more than a legendary basketball player -- and celebrity diver. He's also a superfan of the "Real Housewives" shows. He recently wrote a piece for HuffPost about them that Andy Cohen thought was "incredible." So of course they dished about the franchise during Abdul-Jabbar's appearance on "Watch What Happens: Live."

Adbul-Jabbar drafted what he considered the "dream team" of "Real Housewives." And this wasn't to make a great television show. This was to play basketball.

"Teresa [Giudice] because she would rather chew an opponent’s leg off than them get the better of her," he said. "I picked Phaedra [Parks], because her donkey booty would set some touch picks on the court.”

"I chose Vicki [Gunvalson], because she would yell at the refs until their face melted," Abdul-Jabbar said. Cohen agreed with him on that one!

He rounded out his team with Sonya Morgan from "New York" -- because she'd get naked and distract the players -- Lea Black from "Miami" -- because her piercing laugh would disorient their opponents -- and Giggy from "Beverly Hills." Yes, he picked the dog, because he'd inspire the team to win.

Tamra Barney visited with HuffPost Live after Abdul-Jabbar's blog post went live and seemed a little confused about it. She said she couldn't tell if he liked them or not, calling the piece passive-aggressive. Of course, that response seemed to be based solely on the snippets from the piece read to her by the host. Had she read the whole piece, it would have been pretty clear how he feels.

It's kind of hard to misinterpret lines like "'Real Housewives' reigns as the Grand Poobah of reality series. It is a glitzy window into mainstream values, if not mainstream lifestyle. It offers more insight into American consciousness than most TV scripted dramas.”
