The North Coast Music Festival has revealed its first wave of artists for the fourth annual Labor Day weekend gathering and has pulled down The Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Chicago natives JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound and others for the Aug. 30-Sept. 1 bash in Chicago.

The relatively young festival starts later in the year than seasonal festival heavyweights Pitchfork and Lollapalooza and dubs itself "Summer's Last Stand." Like Pitchfork, North Coast sets up in Chicago's Union Park and has even started to borrow some notes from the indie-leaning summer festival as well.

Much in the way Pitchfork has invited bands to perform their most influential album in full, North Coast has invited headliners The Wu-Tang Clan to perform "Enter the Wu-Tang Clan – 36 Chambers" in honor of the album's 20th anniversary.

With one of the most diverse lineups of all Chicago's large-scale summer fests, Wu-Tang is slated to play with a mix of artists like soul singer Aloe Blacc, Canadian electronic duo Purity Ring, Wilmette native K. Flay and Blues-oriented guitarist Gary Clark Jr.

The festival sold out of special limited discount tickets back in December but have released general admission and VIP tickets exclusively through Clubtix.

The festival has grown since its inception in 2009, with organizers expecting some 50,000 attendees for the 2013 gathering.
