'Parks & Recreation' Finale: Somebody's Pregnant, Burt Macklin's On The Case (VIDEO)

'Parks & Rec' Finale: Somebody's Pregnant!

Burt Macklin returned in the season finale of "Parks & Recreation," on the case of the positive pregnancy test. He found the test at Ron's cabin while the whole gang was there together, leading him to start an investigation into all of the women around the office, as well as Tom's crazy girlfriend.

He made his way through the office, interrogating everyone -- poor Ann was frustrated that someone else was pregnant as she was trying to get pregnant. But there was one person he didn't anticipate. In fact, he ultimately concluded that it must be his own wife who was pregnant, and got excited at the prospect of being a dad. But it wasn't April.

In fact, it wasn't any of the women from the office, or Tom's crazy girlfriend. It was someone else who had access to the cabin, but who wasn't there that weekend. Andy happened to be in Ron's office when Diane walked in.

"Can we talk? Maybe in private?" she asked Ron, and Andy figured it out. He didn't need Burt Macklin after all.

Executive producer Michael Schur confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Diane was pregnant, but the focus of her pregnancy next season will be on how it impacts Ron. "He’s going to go through a significant transformation as he prepares to do this gigantic thing, which is to become a biological father," said Schur. "That’s obviously going to be a big part of the year for his character, and it won’t only be in the ‘I have to read some baby books and figure out how to change diapers’ kind of way."

"I literally could not be more excited about the idea of Ron Swanson changing diapers, dealing with lack of sleep and getting a brand-new human life to mold," wrote HitFix of the revelation. "I can already picture the nursery furniture in my head, and all of it is much better-crafted than anything my kids slept in."

While "Parks & Recreation" has not yet been been picked up for a sixth season, it is widely expected to get renewed. NBC will announce its new fall schedule on Monday, May 13.
