The stress and strain of constantly being connected can sometimes take your life -- and your well-being -- off course. GPS For The Soul can help you find your way back to balance.

GPS Guides are our way of showing you what has relieved others' stress in the hopes that you will be able to identify solutions that work for you. We all have de-stressing "secret weapons" that we pull out in times of tension or anxiety, whether they be photos that relax us or make us smile, songs that bring us back to our heart, quotes or poems that create a feeling of harmony, or meditative exercises that help us find a sense of silence and calm. We encourage you to look at the GPS Guide below, visit our other GPS Guides here, and share with us your own personal tips for finding peace, balance and tranquility.

In her GPS Guide Below, Carla Ardito shares how your breath can be your best weapon against stress.

My breath is truly my best friend. My breath has shown me how to slow down and release tension in my body and my mind. It has actually trained me to check in every so often. Once I started to be curious about my breathing and began to pay attention, I found myself being reminded to do so more often and on a regular basis. As if my body was saying, “I am liking this, let’s keep going.” My breath has taught me, time and time again, that I must work with it in order to better ride the waves of life. The advice that I love giving the most: When someone is upset, hold their hand, look them in the eye and let out a long, slow, steady exhale. A good exhalation is to the nerves, what water is to a thirsty body.
