Selena Gomez gets it -- at least if you're judging by her new video for "Come and Get It."
Rather than turn the breezy pop smash into a mini-movie about an unhappy woman waiting patiently for her ne'er-do-well boyfriend to get his act together -- sample lyrics: "I'll be sittin' right here real patient / All day all night I’ll be waitin' standby / Can't stop because I love it, hate the way I love you / All day all night maybe I'm addicted for life, no lie" -- Gomez simply performs the song. She's put in some unlikely situations, of course -- it is a music video -- but "Come and Get It" is a basically nothing more than a large-scale version of her "Come and Get It" performance at the MTV Movie Awards. Plus a field of green and blue flowers:
That's enough, if only because "Come and Get It" is an early front-runner for Song of the Summer. (At least around the HuffPost Entertainment offices; Gomez did not garner a mention from Vulture, the keepers of the Song of the Summer watch, last week.) Gomez had teased the video for "Come And Get It" in recent weeks, even posting a photo on her Twitter page. She'll begin a 56-city world tour starting in Vancouver on Aug. 14.
