Kid Rock Mixologist Contest Offers Fan The Chance To Pour Jim Beam For Detroit Musician

Want To Get Paid To Mix Drinks For Kid Rock? Here's How

If you take your Jim Beam on the rocks, boy, do we have the gig for you.

Kid Rock announced Wednesday that his tour will be hiring one his fans to join him on tour this summer as the Kid's personal mixologist, sponsored by his favorite liquor of choice, Jim Beam.

Kid Rock's "Best Night Ever" summer tour has made headlines for its $20 ticket pricing, after he slammed the pricing for Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z's tour, retailing near $250 per seat, as "highway robbery."

One fan will be getting paid to pack their bags and hit the road with Kid for three tour stops this summer. The lucky rocker will learn the secrets to pouring bourbon from Jim Beam's Master Mixologist, who will offer one-on-one bartender training. The mixologist's travel schedule has yet to be announced.

It's not just a contest -- it's a real job. The winner will be offered a "$10,000 salary package" for their pouring efforts. That comes out to $3,333.33 per gig -- better than even the wildest night of tips at the bar.

Kid Rock's tour photographer, Jeremy Deputat, told The Huffington Post in an earlier interview that the Detroit-based singer-songwriter is wild for Jim Beam bourbon. He described the endless fun that happens out on the road with Bob Ritchie.

First thing's first, according to JD, it means you’ve got to be able to hang with Rock and his crew. That means partying until 6 a.m. after performing a live show. Every day. Deputat estimates they probably went through more than 100 bottles of Jim Beam in three to four months.

“I can’t really hang with him unless I’m on his level,” Deputat said with a laugh. “Jim Beam Black. Although he likes to have fun, his work ethic is ridiculous. He’s a hard one to keep up with.”

For more information or to sign up for the contest (ages 21 and up), head to the Jim Beam website.
