'Hannibal': Gillian Anderson Can See That Hannibal Puts On A Front (VIDEO)

'Hannibal': Gillian Anderson Sees Through Hannibal's Veil

Now that it's been revealed that Hannibal is the Ripper everyone is looking for on "Hannibal," the psychiatrist's murderous tendencies were shown more more blatantly. While viewers still haven't seen him brutally murder or dismember anyone, there were enough shots of him selecting his victims and then cooking their entrails to make it very clear what happened.

This added layer of menace makes it even more intriguing to watch him interacting with others. No one on the show has interacted with him as much, perhaps, as his own psychiatrist, Dr. Bedelia du Maurier, played by Gillian Anderson.

She made her debut this week, where she called Hannibal out for putting on this public persona that is nowhere near the real him. "You are wearing a very well-tailored ‘person suit,'" she told him. "Maybe it’s less of a person suit, and more of a human veil. That must be lonely.”

ScreenCrush was a fan of the "X-Files" star's debut into this dark world, while the Wall Street Journal noted that she may be the only person who can see through the front Hannibal puts up. She admitted to keeping him on as a patient despite her retirement because of the "intrigue." But will she ever see the monster beneath the veil?

The dark adventure continues on "Hannibal," Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
