Jeff Gordon, Nascar Star, Lists His New York City Trophy Apartment (PHOTOS)

Jeff Gordon Is Letting Go Of One Trophy

Nascar star Jeff Gordon is selling his New York City apartment. The racecar driver has put his stunning three-bedroom residence at 15 Central Park West on the market for $30 million.

The four-time Nascar Cup Series champion lives primarily in Charlotte, N.C. According to The New York Times, Gordon originally purchased the 3,400-square-foot apartment in August 2007 for $9.6 million. Overlooking Central Park, the residence was originally a clean, white canvas before Gordon and his wife, former model Ingrid Vandebosch, renovated the space.

The couple installed Brazilian cherry wood floors, heavy wooden doors and what Gordon describes as "the sushi bar," an oak bar in the living room. The space is the epitome of luxury: The master bedroom is larger than many New York apartments at 740-square-feet and each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Halstead, the real estate brokerage handling the listing, desribes the "fully-integrated Crestron system that controls all lighting, window shades and audio/visual components." But luxury has its costs -- the monthly carrying costs are more than $7,000.

Gordon isn't the only sports enthusiast in the building, either. Fancy neighbors include the likes of Bob Costas.
