Tom Wilson Loses Skate Blade, Crawls Back To Bench During Caps-Rangers Game 6 (VIDEO)

Caps Rookie Loses Skate Blade, Comedy Ensues

Washington's Tom Wilson looked as if he was hurt when he struggled to get off the ice after hitting Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh behind New York's net in Game 6 on Sunday. But Wilson wasn't struggling because he was in pain. The 19-year-old, who was playing in just his second career NHL game, was forced to crawl back to the Caps' bench because he lost a blade on his left skate.

At first, Wilson didn't appear to realize what had happened to his skate. When he tried getting up, he fell back down immediately.

As Wilson crawled back to the bench, a TSN announcer pointed out that he was laughing at himself before Jason Chimera gave his teammate one final push.
