It's A Date!

Season 4 of "Downton Abbey" has a premiere date!

The series is set to return to PBS on Sun., January 5, 2014. Season 4 will run for eight weeks, concluding on February 23, 2014.

The upcoming season will see the return of series regulars Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Joanne Froggatt, Brendan Coyle and more. They will be joined by guest stars Shirley MacLaine, Tom Cullen, Nigel Harman, Dame Harriet Walter, Joanna David, Julian Ovenden, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Gary Carr.

A couple of familiar faces will be missing from the "Downton" cast, however, including Dan Stevens, who played Lady Mary's (McGovern) husband Matthew Crawley.

The actor left the series behind last year to pursue other opportunities.

“We were always optioned for three years,” Stevens told The Telegraph in December. “And when that came up it was a very difficult decision. But it felt like a good time to take stock, to take a moment. From a personal point of view, I wanted a chance to do other things."

"Downton Abbey" Season 4 premieres on Sun., January 5, 2014 on PBS.
