Alison Sweeney, The Biggest Loser Host, Talks Jillian Michael's Diet

Fans of The Biggest Loser were relieved to get their favorite drill sergeant trainer, Jillian Michaels back on campus during this past season's show, after a brief hiatus for maternity leave. The pint-sized star is known for her no-nonsense, blunt approach to exercise -- and her short fuse. But those who have worked with her also say that she is a compassionate and effective coach, with a wealth of knowledge about how to effectively lose weight.

So when The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney joined Abby Huntsman in the HuffPost Live studio to talk about her new novel, The Star Attraction, the conversation quickly turned to Michaels.

"I have tremendous sympathy for what the contestants go through, because she is tough," Sweeney says of Michaels. "But she's amazing and she knows what she's doing. She does it on purpose -- she breaks you down with a goal in mind to build you up."

But that doesn't mean she's ever soft -- or loses sight of her health goals: "I've never seen her eat a cupcake," Sweeney says.
