D.C. Celebrities: Check Out Some Stars You May Not Know Hail From The District

At this point it's common knowledge that go-go star Chuck Brown and jazz musician Duke Ellington hail from D.C. But did you know iconic actress Goldie Hawn is from Silver Spring, Md., or that Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl grew up in Springfield, Va.?

We all know there are many talking heads and politicians that move to the District for work and celebrities from all over descend on the city for the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, but along the way, those who grew up or were born in the Washington metro area get lost in that mix.
