Scott and Lisa Marie Brooks' House Tour In HGTV Magazine's June Issue Is A Renovation Dream (PHOTOS)

With some hard work, a little paint and a lot of love, this house went from drab to fab.

Most potential homebuyers wouldn't look twice at a place that had cracked windows, worn-out siding and a disheveled lawn. But Scott and Lisa Marie Brooks were able to get past those features and turn a little shack in Florida into a home worthy of being featured as a house tour in HGTV Magazine's June issue.

It took a year and about $120,000 to turn the rundown 2,000-square-foot bungalow into a dreamy getaway, but the end results were well worth it. Now, the family has a place with hardwood floors, a jaw-dropping kitchen and a stunning outdoor space with 900 square feet of wooden decks, which the couple installed themselves. "We did a ton of work, but in the end, we felt like, gosh, it doesn't get any better than this," Mrs. Brooks told the magazine.
