'Bates Motel' Finale: Norman Has A Vision of Norma Telling Him To Do Something Terrible (VIDEO)

'Bates Motel' Finale: Norman's Vision Urges Him To Kill

Norman had a tough time on the season finale of "Bates Motel" leading to one of those blackout spells that never ends well for those around him. In this case, it was his kind teacher, Miss Watson. After Norman was rejected and then punched at the school dance, he was walking home in the rain.

Miss Watson offered him a ride, but took him to her house first to clean up his blood. She then went to change before taking him home. But the combination of her bedroom door and a mirror meant that Norman could see her changing. This was enough to trigger one of those visions of his mother chiding him into action.

“What kind of grown woman invites a teenage boy into her house and changes her clothes where he can see her?” Norman's vision of Norma said. He argued back and forth with his mother, before she finally said, "You know what you have to do.”

Norman was next seen running home and into the real Norma's arms. He said he didn't remember anything. A quick shot back to Miss Watson's house, though, showed her dead in her room -- still partially undressed. Her death topped E! Online's list of Monday's "OMG TV Moments."

Entertainment Weekly's Adam Carlson said that while it was shocking, it wasn't unexpected. "What I don’t want is many more scenes of Norman being introduced to women and then being dismantled by them because Norman Bates Doesn’t Like Women," he wrote. "It’s a rejection of some of the very notions put forth by the show ... There’s time for all that, of course.”
