Detroit Election Commission Keeps Duggan On Mayoral Ballot

Duggan Stays On The Ballot

Detroit's election commission today voted 2-1 to keep Mike Duggan, one of the front-runners in the race to replace Dave Bing as mayor of Detroit, on the city's primary election ballot.

Commissioner Charles Pugh, the City Council president, voted against certifying Duggan, but was outvoted by Janice Winfrey, the city clerk, and Detroit's top city attorney, Edward Keelean, who voted in favor of Duggan's candidacy.
