Paul George Shot Forces Overtime In Heat-Pacers Game 1 (VIDEO)

WATCH: Paul George Forces OT

Paul George nearly stole one in Miami.

The Indiana Pacers' talented swingman forced overtime with an unlikely three-point shot in the final seconds of regulation and then nearly won Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with an even more improbable three-point play in the waning moments of overtime. Of course, the guy who wears No. 6 for the Heat made sure that neither of these plays were the most remarkable of the night.

With time running out and the Pacers' offense in disarray in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, George took a handoff from David West. Thirty feet from the rim, George rose up over LeBron James and let loose the potential game-tying shot. Good! Free basketball!

In overtime, George bailed out the Pacers at the end of another ramshackle possession. With time again running out and the Pacers' offense again in disarray, George launched another three-point shot. This one missed. But there was a whistle. Dwyane Wade inexplicably fouled George. The 23-year-old out of Fresno State stepped to the line for three shots with his Pacers trailing 101-99. Three makes later, the Pacers led 102-99 with just 2.2 seconds remaining.

It looked as if the NBA's Summer Of George was about to begin. Then, this happened.
