'Katie' Executive Producer Michael Morrison Leaving

Shakeup Coming To Katie Couric's Daytime Show

Executive producer Michael Morrison is leaving "Katie," ABC announced Friday.

Rachel Miskowiec — a former producer at "The Tyra Banks Show" and Dr. Drew's "Lifechangers" — will take his place at the end of the current season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The shakeup confirmed speculation that had been swirling for weeks that Morrison would not be with the show much longer. The New York Times reported in April that "he has been marginalized, according to several staff members there, so much so that rumors are running rampant that he is about to be replaced."

Morrison, who came to "Katie" from "The Martha Stewart Show," was brought in to replace Jeff Zucker when he left to become CNN's new president at the beginning of the year. Though Couric's program is the highest-rated new daytime show, it has experienced numerous changes in senior staff. Michael Bass, a co-executive producer, left in April to follow Zucker to CNN, while Matt Lombardi, who left CBS News to go to ABC News with Couric, is now a producer for "20/20."
