'Smash' Series Finale: NBC Musical Drama Ends With Big Number (VIDEO)

So Long, 'Smash'

The "Smash" series finale ended with a big musical number.

The troubled NBC musical drama ended its run on TV with a musical number performed by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty. The song, "Big Finish," was written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and Hilty said she was pleased with it and the series finale.

"I'm not speaking out of turn because I read something Josh Safran said in an interview," Hilty told The Huffington Post. "He wrote it so that it could be possibly the series finale. I think people will be satisfied with it. There are no major cliffhangers and it could have continued."

NBC canceled "Smash" -- along with a slew of other shows -- earlier in May.
