The Hollywood Reporter confirmed rumors that Harmon is talking with "Community" producer Sony Pictures about returning to the NBC series in some capacity. Harmon reportedly announced the discussions at a taping of an upcoming podcast, Hollywookiee was the first to report. No word on what his role could be.

NBC, a rep for Harmon and Sony did not immediately reply to The Huffington Post's request for comment.

Harmon and "Community" parted ways after Season 3 and a series of attention-grabbing headlines about a feud with Chevy Chase, who also left the series after Season 4, which saw David Guarascio and Moses Port replace Harmon.

NBC recently announced it renewed "Community" for a fifth season, but the struggling comedy was not on the Peacock Network's fall schedule.
