Bill Kintner, Nebraska State Senator, Describes Women As The 'Biggest Mystery'

Another reason we need gender parity in legislatures? Some elected officials are really confused about women.

In an "in his own words" Q & A feature for the Lincoln Journal Star, Nebraska State Senator Bill Kintner admitted that he's often stumped by the opposite sex:

Biggest mystery? Women. No one understands them. They don't even understand themselves. Books and books and books have been written about it, and no one understands it.

Men are very easy to understand. Very basic, very simple.

Kintner also revealed that he was single for 47 years before meeting his now-wife, Lauren, in the mid-1990s.

Kintner isn't alone in believing that women are harder to understand than men. A March 2013 study found that men often struggle to tell what a woman is thinking or feeling. And then of course there's that little publishing franchise you may have heard of called "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus." However, other research claims that the differences between men and women really aren't that distinct. So, what gives?
