Aaron Hicks Catch: Carlos Gomez Tips Helmet To Twins Rookie After Home Run Robbery (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

In his first at-bat of the game on Tuesday night, it looked like Milwaukee's Carlos Gomez had hit his third home run in two games. But Twins center fielder Aaron Hicks had other plans.

The Brewers slugger drove a pitch off Scott Diamond to deep center field in the bottom of the second inning, sending Hicks all the way back to the wall. Hicks climbed the wall with a well-timed jump, reached up and stole a homer away from Gomez.

Gomez was already heading toward second base when Hicks showed that he caught it. When he saw Hicks come down with it, Gomez tipped his helmet to the Twins rookie.

Hicks homered two innings later and scored the winning run in the 14th inning in Minnesota's 6-5 win.

Even though it was the 23-year-old's 45th career game, it was the second time he made a home-run-robbery and hit a homer in the same game.
