Courtney Love Claims Frances Bean Turned Down The Lead Role In 'Twilight'

Courtney Love is suddenly everywhere again as she prepares to go on tour this summer. In a new interview with Howard Stern on Thursday morning, the rocker shared a rather surprising story.

Love told Stern that her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, was offered the lead role of Bella in the "Twilight" film franchise when she was just 13, but turned it down.

"Someone just saw a picture of her in a magazine and sent me the script for 'Twilight,' and [Frances] was like, 'sexist Mormon piece of shi*t," she said in response to Stern's question about whether her daughter had auditioned for the film.

The role of Bella ultimately went to Kristen Stewart, but Love told Stern that turning the part down was an obvious choice for her daughter because it would have "destroyed her life."

This is the first we've heard of anyone approaching Cobain about the "Twilight" franchise. It seems unlikely that producers would have considered a 13-year-old with no professional acting experience, especially considering that Jennifer Lawrence, Lily Collins and Michelle Trachtenberg were all considered for the role as well.

Love also told Stern that she's "going to do a big TV show." While she wouldn't say what it is, she admitted that "it's [a] pretty done deal."

Lionsgate did not immediately respond to a request for comment about whether Cobain was offered the lead role in "Twilight."
