As women across the country form "Lean In" circles and others poke holes in the messages of Sheryl Sandberg's book of the same name, the fact remains that men hold most of the top leadership positions that shape corporate America.
"There's absolutely been no progress at the top," the Facebook COO writes in the introduction of "Lean In." "You can't explain away 10 years. Ten years of no progress is no progress."
The American workplace may need to change before most talented women — or men, for that matter — even aspire to climb to the very top of the ladder.
